UK Allows Huawei’s Supplying of 5G Equipment Despite Order from US
The United Kingdom has now made announcement as regards Huawei and the supply of 5G equipment. The United Kingdom stated that they would allow the supply of 5G equipment from Huawei, which has been in the middle of a war between China and the US.
Keep in mind, before the announcement was made, the United States President, Donald Trump, personally asked the UK to place a ban on Huawei. But as we have now seen, the UK has refused to grant Trump’s request, with the whole issue appearing like there are people in the United Kingdom who have no like for Trump.
However, the government of the United Kingdom is not the only one who has showed no interest in complying with the United States. Telecommunication provides in the area have also showed disgust for Trump’s request, especially Vodafone. Vodafone stated that banning Huawei would definitely leave UK’s 5G infrastructure behind.
Also, as many people have been speculating, UK’s refusal to comply with America’s request, would have consequences. And thanks to Liz Cheney’s statement, we now have a proof for that claim. According to the man (Liz Cheney), the United States would now have to reassess if the United Kingdom can continue to be one of its closest intel partners.
However, even though the UK now claims it would allow Huawei’s 5G equipment to be used in its 5G infrastructure, it has stated that Huawei’s product would only be allowed in non-core parts of its network. By non-core parts, the UK talks about equipment that would not easily bring down their infrastructure, and can easily to isolated and replaced.
